How to setup a Leadsource using the leadsource field
Leadsources help you track the origin of new leads and converted clients from your various campaigns. Through Leadsource tracking you can see which leadsources and ads sets are the most effective in generating conversions so that you can better adjust your Marketing budgets to yield higher ROI. We’ll cover how to setup a Leadsource and ensure it is assigned to contacts who enter a campaign.

Creating your Leadsource:
Instructions
- In Infusionsoft Navigate to Marketing,Lead Generation, and on the right select Create Leadsource
- Setup your Lead source, with a description. For this example we’re using the Ads created to accompany our Magazine Ad opt in to Scheduled call Campaign.
Setting up your Leadsource:
- Once your Leadsource is set up jump into the campaign(s) you want to see apply it to and In the initial opt-in sequence after the traffic is added to your funnel add a Set Field Value.
- Double click Set Field Value to configure, choose Leadsource from the drop down menu and then choose the Leadsource you’ve created in this example TEST. You’re going to want to uncheck the Overwrite existing value to preserve any previous leadsource data. Then hit the slide button in the top right from “Draft” to “Ready”
- Now any contact entering this sequence that has an empty Leadsource field will have it filled with the TEST Leadsource you selected. If you wish to have all contacts that enter to gain the new leadsource regardless of any previous existing leadsource data you’ll want to check the Overwrite existing value box.
